The upgrade of an item allows players to boost an item's gear score up to 700 and add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory and heading to the kiln.

Certain items can be upp'd to benefit from their unique stats (like an ideally made breakpoint armour that can be rolled to use in melee PvP) while others like weapons do not vary greatly post upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can increase their numerical stats, including attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Many weapons also have an unaffected bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a single unit. This bonus could exceed the damage that an upgrade alone can cause.

The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For instance, an upgrade to a +2 weapon requires two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue to rise until it requires a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which the amount will be reset to one.

Upgraded weapons can also alter their base stats. While this is usually beneficial but it can also have negative consequences as well. Upgrades can make items unusable, unless you are very lucky.

Upgrades can be made to armor items to improve their performance. In the case of chests or helms this will increase its base defense while gloves and belts improve their required strength and dexterity. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it can sometimes reroll down to a lower value.

The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats that it will gain when upgrading along with the relative values of those stats. This means that a change from a sword with 8 damage to an 11 attack-damage sword will result in the weapon gaining 3% of attack damage. The 3% difference does not mean that the weapon will hit three times less, since it is an absolute number.

A weapon can be rerolled by pressing the green button with circling arrows in the item menu. This will reroll the item and alter its stats but it won't reset the weapon's level nor tie it to the account status.

Armor

Adding a few upgrades to your armor can make a a huge difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets can offer massive improvements in the resistance to poison, curses and fire as well as magic. This can make it easier to navigate difficult terrains. In general, the greater defense you have for your character, the greater health you'll receive from each point. So, it's best to upgrade your armor.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains in the game and to unlock each fountain, you have to complete an additional quest involving the Stable Trotters. After you've completed the main side quest and mastered the corresponding fountain and then you can talk to any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrading menu.

The amount of material needed to upgrade each piece of armor is different. It is possible to use anything from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the initial armor piece, and between five Rubies or ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade the next one. For instance the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep pace with a large group of adversaries in most cold environments, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded all the way to +20 defense, granting the protection needed to survive an entire raid with a handful of friends.

You can't upgrade armor like weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior it is best to focus on upgrading your armor to increase physical power or the power of spells. It is also recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you will still be wearing by the end of the story, like the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you use in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can unlock some perks on your armor. It is generally recommended to save these upgrades to the weapon that you'll use to win the game. For instance, the Longsword or Battleaxe. It's nevertheless beneficial to have some upgrades to the armor on your chest and helmets so that you can get around a few monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquid substances that, when consumed provide the user with an effect on their status for a short period of time. There are five different types of potions, each with particular effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded, increasing the effectiveness of their effects. Additionally the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to the potions.

There were some changes to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. For instance, splash potions now have a duration of 0:08 (this is not the same as 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display for the item). The potion table is constructed from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It can be used in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons, as is the case with Java Edition.  item upgrader  is the same for the use of a potion in the cauldron that is filled. In addition, there are simmering potions made using splash and dragon breath potions. Redstone is also added to potions that are lingering to increase their effect. Trinkets

A trinket is a tiny and cheap ornament or piece of jewelry. It can be a reference to an object or ornament that serves a purpose, but is not particularly significant, such as a trinket. In some cultures a trinket is used to express affection or friendship between family members.

Trinkets can be upgraded by players in addition to weapons or armor, as well as potions. Upgrades can be obtained by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Trinkets like other items which can be upgraded can be swapped at will without losing stats.

The upgrade vendors are located in major cities and the capital of each zone, as well as in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased with tokens, gold, or fragments from a rare trinket.

Upgrades are a cost-effective alternative to buying a new trinket. You can upgrade their trinket for just 12 tokens. The new trinket will come with the same base ilvl as previous one, and will have an additional upgrade bonus of 1.

Trinkets can be re-upgraded once the old ones are no longer useful, allowing a player to boost their power and value over time. They can be traded between players and are a viable alternative to gold.

Players must upgrade their most valuable items first. This means that the most-important slot items for each class are upgraded first, followed by their secondary gear and other pieces of equipment that will not replace anytime soon (such as rings or cloaks). It is also important to consider your class's preferred stats when deciding the items to upgrade. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for tank players and they want to upgrade their helm, chest and shoulders.

Once they have become useless trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level. The new trinket comes with an additional 1% bonus. However, a re-upgrade is likely to ruin the previous trinket in the event that it is not salvaged with the Black Lion Salvage Kit or a higher-tier salvage tool. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, however it is still cheaper than buying the new one.
